SPECIAL ISSUE OF THE NIGERIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT (NJTD) – indexed by SCOPUS, AJOL, CROSSREF, DOAJ, GOOGLE SCHOLAR

FETiCON 2026 SPECIAL ISSUE

The Nigerian Journal of Technological Development (NJTD), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Ilorin, invites authors of papers presented at FETiCON 2026 to submit expanded, substantially revised manuscripts for consideration in a Special Issue dedicated to FETiCON 2026. The Special Issue offers authors the opportunity to develop their conference contributions into full-length, peer-reviewed journal articles and help disseminate current research, innovations and technological developments.

Submission and Review

Authors are encouraged to submit substantially revised and expanded versions of their FETiCON 2026 papers. All submissions will be subjected to the journal's standard peer-review and editorial processes and must comply with the NJTD submission guidelines as contained via https://journal.njtd.com.ng/index.php/njtd/about/submissions. Authors should ensure that the journal manuscript contains sufficient additional technical content, analysis, discussion and/or results beyond the conference version, where applicable.

Invitation to Authors

We particularly encourage FETiCON 2026 presenters whose work demonstrates significant originality, technical contribution, innovation, practical relevance and potential for technological development to take advantage of this opportunity. Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts early to facilitate timely review and publication within the proposed publication window.

Processing Charges

The total charge for this call is as follows:

1. Local Papers: All local papers will be charged N87,500. At submission, a non-refundable processing charge of N20,000 is due, while papers scaling through to acceptance will be charged N67,500.

2. Foreign Papers: All foreign papers will be charged at 200 USD. At submission, a non-refundable processing charge of 50 USD must be paid, while papers scaling through to acceptance will be charged at 150 USD.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Papers must be well written, in Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing, and a maximum of 30 Pages, with references, using standard normal margins.
  2. Papers must be well-organised
  3. Only high-quality papers will be considered.
  4. Survey-based papers must include relevant engineering models to be considered.
  5. Three (3) documents must be submitted by every corresponding author before such a submission is evaluated at Desk Review:
  • Blind copy containing the Title, Abstract, Keywords, and the main content. Name the blind copy file using FETiCON2026_NJTD_CMT ID_PRCD ID_Manuscript. E.g., if the CMT ID is 73 and the proceeding ID is 263, name the blind copy manuscript: FETiCON2026_NJTD_CMT73_PRCD263_Manuscript. Any submission that does not follow this format will be immediately REJECTED.
  • Title Page containing the Title, Author(s)’ details, Abstract, Keywords, Suggested Reviewers’ details (at least two) and name the file using FETiCON2026_NJTD_CMT ID_PRCD ID_Manuscript. e.g. If CMT ID is 73 and the proceeding ID is 263, then the Title Page must be named: FETiCON2026_NJTD_CMT73_PRCD263_Title Page. Any submission that does not follow this format will be immediately REJECTED.
  • Evidence of payment of the non-refundable processing charge of N20,000 OR 50 USD.

 

Grounds for Immediate Rejection at Desk Review

A manuscript may be immediately rejected without external peer review if it falls under any of the following categories:

  1. All papers not presented at FETiCON2026, since this is a FETiCON2026 SPECIAL ISSUE.
  2. Failure to submit the required three documents: Blind manuscript; Title page; and Evidence of payment of the processing charge.
  3. Non-adherence to the submission guidelines.
  4. Any submission significantly identical to the conference paper.
  5. All submissions demonstrating inadequate technical depth, weak methodology, insufficient analysis, or little/no meaningful technical contribution.
  6. All survey/review-oriented submissions that lack adequate engineering models, quantitative analysis, a technical framework, or other substantive engineering content.
  7. Submissions showing unacceptable levels of plagiarism, or inappropriate reuse of previously published material will be rejected.
  8. Any submission containing more than five self-citations.
  9. All duplicate submissions. Only a single submission is allowed per paper.
  10. Submissions that are excessively poorly written, poorly organised, or presented in a form that prevents meaningful editorial or technical assessment.  
  11. Any evidence of data fabrication, falsification, manipulation of results, or other forms of research misconduct.
  12. Manuscripts the Editorial Office deems of insufficient technical or scientific quality to warrant external peer review.
  13. A particular submission made to both NJTD and JEIS. 
  14. All submissions after 31 October 2026, unless the Editorial Office announces an official extension.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU CAN SUBMIT A PAPER TO EITHER NJTD OR JEIS AND NOT BOTH. ALL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE GIVEN ACCELERATED REVIEW.
